Social Media Tips for Your Notary Business Part I: Pinterest

Many notaries now have small businesses; NPU started as a small family run business, and though we have grown, we still have those same family owners. Social media can always be transformed for your business needs – often opening new doors for your potential customers to look at you in a different light. NPU wanted to utilize one of the less thought of media to show you a different side to us: NPU Pinterest. The work of a notary is often characterized as dull and boring, but we know that notaries and employees at NPU are creative and energetic! Pinterest is an outlet to let us show you alternate, more creative aspects to business, organization, marketing, etc. Here are some tips on how to utilize Pinterest for your own business. Start the journey with NPU! pinterest Create specific boards. Do not try to have too many general boards, if you find a common theme, run with it! It will help your users navigate your boards, and organize your thoughts and ideas. Don’t overdo it. We all have a tendency to get on Pinterest and go crazy all at once—it’s addicting! If you find yourself going overboard on just one board, try to save some of those pins for later when you aren’t in the mood to keep browsing. Promote your business and expertise. Get creative with your audience. Some of you may think how do I expand or what do these have to do with my business? Get creative to push your business out of its normal confines, just be conscious of your audience. NPU pushed our boundaries to pin content from every area. Our notaries are not just notaries – we covered the essentials for you, but also wanted to help you organize your office, where you conduct so many notarizations; help create recipes, so you can grab them on the way to a full day of signings; and crafts, to utilize those notary and everyday supplies to get your creative juices flowing. Think outside of the box! Timing. Research shows the best time to pin is Saturday morning, and while I know none of us want to work on the weekends, it may help you reach the most people while you are establishing your brand. Do your research for your area, though. At NPU we pin through-out the week to catch different groups of people, once they follow you company, your future pins will be easy to find! We want our customers to have a better feel for the employees and our company, so we ensure our pins are ideas or items we actually like and would want for ourselves!
