QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A GEORGIA NOTARY PUBLIC
In order to become a notary public in Georgia, you must meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a citizen or a legal resident of the United States
• Be a legal resident of the county for which you are applying, or
- If a resident of a bordering state, you must be regularly employed in the county in which you are applying
• Be able to read and write English
• Have, and provide at the time of application, an operating telephone number
