The Arkansas Secretary of State, Mark Martin, announced earlier this month that notaries in Arkansas can now apply to be an electronic notary or e-notary. He hopes that this step towards technology will allow Arkansas business' to become more efficient; saving time and resources.
You must be an Arkansas notary in good standing to apply to become an e-notary. Follow the steps that the State explains in their Becoming an Electronic Notary Public article. There is mandatory training but you can sign up for the free e-notary training on the Secretary of State's website and pass an exam.
Once you've become an e-notary, you must choose an e-notarization system. The Arkansas Secretary of State has only approved two such vendors, Doc Verify and World Wide Notary. Check back for more information to follow in the coming months!
