Tennessee Notaries: You May Now Officiate for Marriage Ceremonies!

Governor Bill Lee has just signed Senate Bill 509, which authorizes Tennessee notaries public to solemnize marriage vows. This new law was effective immediately upon the Governor’s signature on April 28, 2021. Only four other states (Florida, Maine, Montana and South Carolina) authorize their notaries, by sole virtue of their active notary commission, to provide this highly responsible and satisfying service.
