We frequently receive inquiries regarding the time it takes to process your notary commission. Unfortunately, we do not issue notary commissions. We are a notary bond agency. As such, in states that require a notary bond, we assist customers through the application process, ensure the application is complete, and when required in certain states, mail the bond form to be signed, ensuring a wet ink signature. NPU also offers state-approved notary education courses in a handful of states, where it is required by law.
Once your application is completed per your state’s requirements, NPU submits it to the State (or commissioning authority). It is the commissioning authority that approves or denies your application and issues your commission. After the commission has been issued, the state (or commissioning authority) sends us your commission certificate; with that, we can manufacture and fulfill your quality notary products.
We are here to assist you by outlining your state requirements, answering any questions, and guiding you along the process. We are a free resource for you—helping you become better notaries and being your support along the way. Our FAQ and blogs help answer any questions about the application process. There are also detailed step-by-step instructions attached to each application. If you have any questions, please contact our customer care team at 800.821.0831.
