Nebraska: Governor’s Executive Order to Implement the Online Notary Public Act

On April 1, 2020, Governor Pete Ricketts waived the delayed (July 1, 2020) effective date provision of Nebraska’s Online Notary Public Act, and ordered the Secretary of State to “immediately commence implementation of the Act.”

Alabama Governor's Proclamation (03-26-2020)

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor of Alabama has issued a supplemental proclamation that includes a provision allowing Alabama Notaries who are also licensed Alabama attorneys or who are being supervised by a licensed Alabama attorney the use of "videoconferencing programs" for the duration of the public health emergency unless rescinded or extended by proclamation.

Texas Notary Coronavirus Response Advisory: Extended Texas Driver License Expiration Dates

Notary Public Underwriters Agency of Texas, Inc. advises all Texas Notaries that by order of Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has temporarily waived expiration dates for certain Texas identification cards, including Driver Licenses, Commercial Driver Licenses and other identification forms. This measure suspends the need to venture into a public setting in order to renew an expiring or expired license.
