This International Women's Day, we would like to honor one of our own, Melba. Today, we are celebrating 15 years of Melba's hard work and dedication to our company.
Initially, Melba's introduction to NPU was through a fellow Bible College student and now co-worker, Yolonda. She mentioned to Melba that NPU was looking for a bilingual Customer Care Specialist, and the rest was history.
When asked what Melba loves most about working at NPU, she says, "I love Jack's (NPU co-owner) friendliness and Debbie’s (NPU co-owner) heart. They (NPU) are more than just a notary bonding company; they bring everyone in and make us feel like we are part of their family. It's truly a blessing to work here!"
Outside of work, Melba loves to create! She is a writer and is currently working on her second book! When COVID first hit in 2020, she decided to start her own press-on nail business called Creative Claws by Kat (check her out on IG.) Then, once everything opened, she decided to go on to get her nail specialty license. That’s now her side hustle, and it’s a great creative outlet for her. Melba is also passionate about music. She's a talented musician (guitar and ukulele), and she loves to dance every chance she gets. When she's not creating, Melba loves to run! She tries to run a race at least once a year, and last year she decided to push herself and ran her very first 10K!
Her co-workers say that Melba's personality is magnetic. Her smile is infectious, and she always has an upbeat vibe and a kind word to share. Melba's manager, Trinity, says, "If I had to use one word to describe Melba, it would be strong. She's strong in her faith, her loyalty, her mind, and her heart. People often gravitate towards Melba in times of need, as she has the ability to calm people with her healing words and advice. She has a lot of wisdom and loves to share it with the world."
Melba is an NPU customer favorite. She has numerous 5-star customer service ratings on Google. NPU's President, Chris, says, "Melba is an outstanding communicator in both English and Spanish. Her kindness, willingness to share ideas, and proud confidence stands out in all her communication, no matter how casual or serious the conversation. Melba remains steadfast in her commitment to serving our customers with respect, accuracy, and clarity."
Melba has a sign on her desk that reads, “To your enemy, forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart; to a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example; to yourself, respect.” It's a mantra that she says inspires her, and she hopes it inspires you too. 🌠
